Not Taking Safety For Granted

Instructor Clif Eli Abercrombie is a Warrior Krav Maga 1st Degree Advance Phase B Blackbelt and Certified Warrior Defence Lab Instructor.

According to Abercrombie, anyone has the possibility of being attacked.  Crime doesn’t discriminate between race, sex, or social class.  We shouldn’t be negligent to the possibility, but rather look for ways to increase our safety and survival.

In light of the growing number of attacks on individuals in our world, the Warrior Success Academy staff would like to lend a hand to help ensure that you and your loved ones are safe.  Here are some simple tips for crime prevention:

Self Defense starts with how we think and what we do to prevent vulnerability (bring over-powered) and accessibility (being able to physically get to you).  Remember, most criminals don’t have an alternate plan, but rather an alternate victim.  So, during the victim selection process, we want to minimize our victim profile, so the risk seems to outweigh the rewards.

Use Barriers of Defense-using the environment for protection, like locking the doors at home, work, car and using lights around the house perimeter at night and closing your windows

Pay attention to your surroundings and the people in it.  Simply understand that the world is a potentially unfriendly place and be prepared to defend yourself if necessary.  Situational awareness can help you avoid danger, give you more time to prepare a response, and can serve as a deterrent.
